Armani on Fifth Avenue

When I seen this store in New York it was sooo gorgeous! I seen the infamous stairs and according to WWD Collections Magazine it's reminiscent of the dinosaur skeletons in the American Museum of Natural History. The Dolci Bar b.k.a the Chocolate Bar was nice except for the prices! One piece of chocolate was $4 yes One piece! The restaurant prices were all right prices ranging from $15-$30, they do have lunch and dinner specials to.

Fashion's Night Out

In a global initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion, U.S. and international editions of Vogue are coordinating evening extravaganzas in their respective world fashion capitals. The first evening of New York Fashion Week, Fashion's Night Out will encompass festivities galore— from inventive window displays to model and celebrity appearances. Champagne may flow; hors d'oeuvres may be passed. Rumors of musical performances, downtown barbecues, shoe capsules, limited-edition rings, and sweepstakes abound. Apparently there will be makeovers, brow bars, and haircut stations at sundry spots, too. They’ve invited every fashion retailer across the five boroughs to encourage the fun of fashion again—flagships, tiny boutiques, massive department stores, young designers, mainstream chains, and niche luxury names alike—by keeping its doors open late on the evening of September 10 and to implement creative customer experiences welcoming all. Over 700 retailers and designers across New York City are confirmed participants in Fashion’s Night Out. Yes readers, 700 retailers and designers! Designers and retailers from 3.1 Phillip Lim, A Bathing Ape, Aldo, Alexander McQueen, American Eagle, Armani 5th Ave. (a fab looking store by the way!), Betsey Johnson, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice, Juicy Couture, Tracy Reese and many many more! I promise you guys if I did not have classes I would SO be there and would of been able to give you all the full scoop! Whyyyy?! This sounds like it's going to be the fashion event of the year! Can you imagine whose going to be there?! From what I heard Taylor Momsen is going to make an apperance, Anna Wintour is going to be signing shirts at the Macy's in Queens. If only, if only! Model As Muse Exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art

While at New York I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art to check out the Model As Muse exhibit brought to you by Marc Jacobs. Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures. So I will tell you what I got from the exhibit. I remember when I first walked in and they had pictures from models of the 40's and 50's and they just screamed elegance from there pictures! They could have been the most tom girlish girl out there but you never would've noticed because they looked fab! Some of the models I learned about were Donyale Luna, Dovima, and Wilhelmina Cooper founder of Wilhelmina Modeling Agency. Model Dovima was reputed to be the highest-paid model of her time. "Dovima with the Elephants" is one of her infamous photos taken at the Cirque d'hiver, Paris, in August 1955. The dress was the first evening dress designed for Christian Dior by his new assistant, Yves Saint-Laurent. Then there is Donyale Luna who was the first African American Model to appear on the cover of British Vogue (March 1966) and Harper's Bazaar (January 1965). Wilhelmina Cooper became one of the most famous models of the 1950s and 1960s. During her career as a model she was on the cover of 255 magazines. She founded Wilhelmina Modeling Agency in New York in 1967. The exhibit was amazing though, I learned so much! Honestly I couldnt believe I was in the same place that Andre Leon Talley stepped foot on as well as Marc Jacobs, Tyra Banks, Rihanna, and Blair Waldorf! lol
